“A teaching artist is a practicing professional artist with the complementary skills, curiosities and sensibilities of an educator, who can effectively engage a wide range of people in learning experiences in, through, and about the arts.”
The position of the Teaching-Artist was born out of necessity as many schools saw their budgets for the arts and theater diminish. In a search for alternatives, leaders in education began to look into their own communities for resources. What they found was a vibrant and talented pool of artists and creators many of whom possessed skills similar to those of professional educators. Teaching-Artists can offer dynamic approaches in the classroom while creating significant relationships and mentor-ships with students. The methods and lessons of the Teaching-Artist serve as a complimentary component to standard curriculum. InterACT is pioneering the work of the Teaching-Artist within the field of Language Education throughout Germany.
We have an extraordinarily talented team of professional Teaching-Artists from a myriad of different artistic backgrounds. Take a minute to get to know us.
